🌱 Sprout — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Sprout Discord bot ("Sprout", "we", "us") collects, stores, and uses information when you interact with the bot on Discord.

1. Information We Collect

Sprout collects and stores only the minimum data required to operate the game:

• Discord User ID — a numeric identifier assigned by Discord, used to associate your game progress with your account. We never store your username, email address, or any other personal information.
• Game state — your in-game data, including coin balance, inventory, planted crops, equipped tools, and achievement progress.
• Interaction timestamps — when crops were planted, when the shop was last refreshed, etc., to support time-based game mechanics.

We do not collect, log, or store the content of any messages you send on Discord.

2. How We Use Your Information

The data listed above is used exclusively to:

• Save and restore your game progress between sessions
• Calculate time-based events (crop growth, shop refreshes)
• Display leaderboards and statistics within the game

We do not use your data for advertising, analytics, or any purpose outside of operating the game.

3. Data Storage

Game data is stored in a SQLite database hosted on a private server. Access to this database is restricted to Sprout's development team. Data is not transmitted to any third parties.

4. Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as you interact with the bot. If you have not used Sprout for an extended period and wish to have your data deleted, you may request deletion by contacting us (see Section 7).

5. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties. Your Discord User ID and game data are never disclosed to other users except as part of normal in-game features (e.g., your username appearing on a leaderboard, if such a feature exists).

6. Discord's Privacy Policy

Sprout operates as a Discord application. By using Discord you also agree to Discord's Privacy Policy. Sprout has no control over data collected by Discord directly.

7. Your Rights & Data Deletion

You may request that we delete all data associated with your Discord User ID at any time. To do so, open a GitHub issue at github.com/AugumS/Sprout/issues or contact us through the official Sprout Discord server.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of Sprout after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
